Series Description
Anthem Advances in Defence and Security Studies is a multidisciplinary series that provides a home for innovative research on defence and security matters. Providing thought leadership in the field, the series welcomes both theoretical and empirical contributions in a range of sub-disciplines including, but not limited to, international security studies, military studies, defence studies, strategic studies, the law of armed conflict and international law related to international security more generally, peacekeeping, proliferation and arms control, terrorism and counter-terrorism, cyberspace and political violence.

Books in this series seek to innovate. They provide analysis of contemporary conflicts and defence policies, interrogate conceptual, strategic and operational challenges, and take a practical approach that aims to be beneficial for military, industrial and government stakeholders. The series looks towards establishing a community practice with contributors from academia, think tanks and defence practitioners.

Proposals
The series provides a home for traditional approaches to defence and security, research with a practical or policy application and projects that go beyond traditional disciplinary and methodological boundaries using those innovative tools to (re)set the agenda of the field. Contributions that take a critical, unconventional or a new methodological approach are particularly encouraged to provide innovation in the field. New methods may challenge existing paradigms or critical approaches may allow for ambitious arguments that seek to redefine the field.

We welcome submissions of proposals for challenging and original works from emerging and established scholars and practitioners that meet the criteria of our series. We make prompt editorial decisions. Our titles are published in digital and print editions and are subject to peer review by recognized authorities in the field. Should you wish to send in a proposal for a monograph (mid-length and full-length), edited collection, handbook/reference or Anthem Impact (20,000-30,000 words), please contact us at: proposal@anthempress.com.
