The Anthem Series on Development in Africa and the Diaspora focuses on various aspects of political, economic, social, or cultural development in Africa and/or the Diaspora (North and South America, the Caribbean, and Europe) during the colonial and contemporary time periods. We are particularly interested in new theoretical frameworks which help us to understand and reposition people of African descent in a changing world order and empirical studies which allow us to examine new social, economic, and political movements inspired by grass-roots activism. We are also interested in studies which examine the increasing impacts of globalization on Africa and African-descended people around the world, and creative new ways to connect the diaspora more integrally with African development processes. We invite proposals from scholars in an interdisciplinary framework from the disciplines of history, political science, criminal justice, business, sociology, anthropology, psychology, social work, art and music, medicine, health sciences, engineering, technology, management science, women’s studies, development studies, and other areas.
