About This Book

Sunnyville is a happy little town that has everything it needs. But one day, trouble arrives. When a sudden landslide cuts off all its power, water and fresh food deliveries, it’s up to a few curious and smart kids to find the solutions. Maya, Ana and Scotty head to the hills to explore, finding inspiration in the world around them.

When Maya spots a certain beetle, she has a great idea to find fresh water. Ana learns the best way to grow fresh vegetables with compost, and Scotty has an idea for generating and storing electricity. After trying a few times, they each find a solution to improve the town!

With inspiration from nature, a knack for engineering and a dash of determination, this is the story of how a handful of smart kids save Sunnyville.

Reviews

The message comes across strongly and the text was aimed at the right level. The illustrations were colourful and followed the plot perfectly, showing the children and their ideas, and failures along the way. Overall, a tremendous children’s book that will hopefully educate, and inspire a new generation to take care of the planet. – Whispering Stories
